Position: Clinical Director
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Senior Clinical Director
PTO/Sick: 27 days
Signing Bonus Available

Job Overview

In this role, you will be a part of the Leadership team and will lead and maintain the overall clinical services and operational integrity of the clinic. The primary role is to provide leadership, coordination, and supervision to a multidisciplinary team(s), oversee programming in your clinic and align objectives based on the direction provided by the executive leadership team. Participates in agency-wide meetings and establishes training agenda for Clinical and Residential Services team members. You will lead a diverse staff in delivering empirically supported, culturally competent treatment services by complying with all contractual and governing regulations, laws, rules, policies, and procedures. The Clinical Director will ensure the employment, credentialing, utilization, and maintenance of an appropriate number of trained, qualified staff are available to meet the service delivery needs of the clinic.


Qualifications

  • Three years licensed or licensed-eligible as an LCSW, MFT, LPCC, or Psychologist in the state of California

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience providing sex offender-specific treatment or treatment in a forensic setting.

  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience 

  • Knowledge of cognitive-behavioral treatment methods, sex offender treatment methods, and mental health theories, concepts, and methods related to treatment in forensic settings.

  • Effectively participate as part of the Leadership team.

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Lead a diverse workforce.

  • Participate in Strategic Planning initiatives.

  • Ability to utilize principles of Continuous Performance Improvement to manage his/her clinic 


Work Environment and travel

This job primarily operates independently in a community setting. Travel to satellite offices for meetings and training is required.   

Responsibilities and Duties

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure timely and appropriate training to assure the ability of treatment staff to implement the responsibilities and duties of their positions.

  • Assures policies and programs are compliant with the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities standards for Adult Residential programming.

  • Complete on-call responsibilities as needed.

  • Acts as the clinical authority of the program and supports and establish processes and procedures within the organization 

  • Provides evidence-based direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care of governing bodies 

  • Oversees documentation by clinical staff and performs audits of the clinic to ensure adherence to contractual requirements and regulatory boards

  • Aids in creating policies and procedures that address clinical quality and risk 

  • Responsible for team meetings and providing regular supervision and evaluations of assigned staff 

  • Maintain small clinical caseload 

  • Maintain accurate and timely files and participate in monthly consultation meetings with Senior Leadership

  • Act as an ongoing resource to the treatment team by communicating current research and knowledge

  • Represent the agency as needed in the community (i.e. serving on committees, making presentations on our programs, etc)

  • Serve as liaison for the company to our stakeholders and other outside agencies

  • Provide court testimony as needed

  • Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills. 

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with a wide range of personalities. 

  • Ability to assign and coordinate work activities and monitor the performance of subordinates.

  • Appreciation of the need for and ability to maintain appropriate personal boundaries in working with sexual offender populations. 

  • Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.

  • Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.

  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

  • Thorough knowledge of theory and application of Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment

  • Working knowledge of ATSA’s “Practice Standards and Guidelines”

  • Ability to produce accurate and complete assessments formulated from a knowledge of sex offender dynamics

  • Ability to write effective case notes and report on data from files

  • Ability to work independently; but relate issues to manager appropriately

  • Ability to work effectively when under extreme pressure

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage difficult client discussions

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and outside agencies

  • Dedication to preventing further sexual victimization and the ability to address difficult issues with a challenging population

  • Proven track record of reliability and consistency of high performance

  • Strong desire to learn and grow professionally

  • Exhibits an exemplary work ethic by being highly organized, detailed, and thorough
